Growing up in a very small town in Western New York, I was raised on a steady diet of Disney movies and Saturday morning cartoons supplemented with Sunday comics like Calvin & Hobbes and classic Nintendo video games. When my parents gave me the proverbial boot to "go play outside" (and rightly so), I fostered interests in nature, history, biology, cultures, linguistics, geology, and oceanography. My hobbies in those formative years were as varied as my interests and included theatre, creative writing, sports, and music.

After high school I was faced with the dilemma of whether to pursue a scientific career or to follow my true wish to be an animator. I spent a year as a pre-veterinary student and really enjoyed learning about DNA gel electrophoresis and photosynthesis and the like but I found myself longing for the creative outlets of my youth. I bravely dove head first into the creative pool and haven't looked back. I attended SUNY Geneseo for 3 years and graduated in May of 2005 with a Bachelors degree in Art Studio and a minor in Computer Science.

I am currently attending Rochester Institute of Technology (MFA Imaging Arts and Computer Animation) and am in hot pursuit of a career in character animation.
